Recenzentka píše, že kniha "Praví bastardi" Jonathana Frencha je zamatovo temná a brutálna s epickým dejom, ktorý je pôsobivý, zdvorilý a nespútaný. Zhodnotila ju ako zložitú, avšak úchvatnú fantasy, ktorú si zamilujú tí, čo majú radi tradíciu žánra a sú ochotní investovať do svojho literárneho zážitku čas a úsilie. Podľa nej si Jonathan French zaslúži nesmierny obdiv za svoj jazyk, ktorý sa valí ako vlna, hĺbkou a krásou pohlcujúci čitateľa.
