Calla a Row boli kedysi blízki, no pred štyrmi rokmi ich životy zasiahla trpká zrada: Calla zmizla do New Yorku a Row sa stal slávnym šéfkuchárom s michelinskou hviezdou a prísnym pravidlom „žiadne city – žiadne komplikácie“. Na pohrebe jej otca sa znovu stretnú: Calla, sužovaná paralyzujúcou úzkosťou a bez peňazí, ho provokuje a medzi nimi vzplanie vášeň, ktorá môže spáliť kuchyňu, ich zábrany alebo ich srdcia. Recenzentka knihu považuje za fajn a v štýle autorky L. J. Shen, no upozorňuje na množstvo žánrových klišé, nelogickostí a rýchle zmeny nálad postáv, pričom najzaujímavejšie sú pre ňu vedľajšie postavy.
