Herkulova krev je temná romantická fantasy o osiřelé Alexis, která zjistí, že v jejích žilách koluje vzácná krev a musí přežít v brutální spartské válečné akademii plné intrik a nebezpečných vášní. Kniha atraktivně kombinuje antické mýty s dystopickou vizí; kladně recenzentka hodnotí Alexisův sarkastický humor a společníka, hada Nyx. Silné výhrady má ale k míchání řeckých a římských reálií a zejména k příliš explicitním a necitlivým sexuálním scénám, násilí a stalkingu, které snižují čtenářský zážitek a dělají hrdinku někdy naivní. I přesto, že byla zklamaná, knihu dočetla a plánuje přečíst druhý díl kvůli nedořešeným otázkám.
