Sonia Velton v románe The Nightingale's Castle (Lindeni 2025) prerozpráva legendu o Alžbete Báthoryovej prostredníctvom osudov nemanželského dieťaťa, ktoré vyrastie ako Borka a stane sa slúžkou na Čachtickom hrade, kde sa medzi ňou a grófkou vytvorí neisté puto. Autorka strieda minulosť a prítomnosť, sleduje Alžbetin život až do päťdesiatky i osudy jej slúžok a vytvára pomalé tempo a silnú atmosféru s drobnými magickými prvkami (ružová skrinka). Recenzentke sa páčilo inovatívne spracovanie, plynulosť rozprávania a vykreslenie postáv, hoci príbeh je miestami pomalší. Knihu ohodnotila 3/5, obálku 5/5 a ďakuje vydavateľstvu za recenzný výtlačok.
