V krimi trileri Polnočná hostina sa pri otváraní luxusného vidieckeho panstva počas letného slnovratu nájde telo a na povrch vypláva pätnásťročné tajomstvo, ktoré vrhá celé podujatie do tieňa minulosti. Autorka Lucy Foley používa krátke kapitoly a striedajúce sa pohľady v nelineárnom vyrozprávaní, doplnenom o denníkové zápisky, ktoré miestami pôsobia zmätočne. Príbeh je síce občas predvídateľný, no vďaka množstvu postáv, napätiu a psychologickým hrám je stále pútavý a autorka si u recenzentky udržala dôveru.
