Kniha Prežila len jediná od Rileyho Sagera (Todd Ritter) je gotický psychologický triler odohrávajúci sa v rozpadajúcej sa viktoriánskej vile v Maine, kde bola v roku 1929 obvinená Lenora z vraždy svojej rodiny a v roku 1983 sa mladá zdravotná sestra Kit zapletie do odhaľovania jej minulosti prostredníctvom starého písacieho stroja. Recenzentka chváli premyslenú atmosféru a realistické vykreslenie postáv, najmä Lenory, no upozorňuje na pomalý rozbeh spôsobený množstvom zdĺhavých opisov v prvej polovici knihy. Druhá polovica je dynamickejšia, prináša napätie, prekvapivé prepojenia a zvraty, ktoré sú však podľa nej miestami príliš prehnané a narúšajú reálosť príbehu. Kniha vyniká krátkymi kapitolami, dychberúcou atmosférou a autorovým šikovným manipulovaním s vnímaním čitateľa, ktoré vedie k šokujúcemu rozuzleniu.
