Kniha Stratené je druhá časť detektívnej série Jess Lourey, odohráva sa v roku 1998 v minnesotskom mestečku Alka, kde sa po viac ako dvadsiatich rokoch opakuje desivá vražda a vyšetrovanie vedú forenzný analytik Harry Steinbeck a vyšetrovateľka Van Reedová. Prvá polovica príbehu je podľa recenzentky pomalá a rozvláčna, no neskôr sa dej rozbehne a prinesie množstvo očakávaných i neočakávaných zvratov. Silnou stránkou sú vzťahy v izolovanej komunite s desivými pravidlami a rituálmi a postupné odhaľovanie veľkého tajomstva, pričom sa rozvíja aj dôvera medzi Harrym a Van. Knihu možno čítať samostatne, avšak recenzentka odporúča pre lepšie pochopenie postáv prečítať aj prvú časť a po závere cíti zvedavosť pokračovať v sérii.
