Autorka po sľubnom prvom dieli Rafinované klamstvá v pokračovaní Hriešne pravdy výrazne sklamala; namiesto rozvinutia záhady a postáv ponúkla povrchné vysvetlenie a vyčerpaný dej. Kniha takmer postráda dej a väčšinu tvorili prehnané žiarlivostné scény a nadmerné množstvo erotiky, pričom niekoľko svetlých momentov rýchlo upadlo. Záver navyše negoval zmysel celého budovania príbehu, postavy sa zasekli v naivite a vzťah nabral toxický a ponižujúci charakter. Hriešne pravdy som prečítala do konca, ale zostala som mierne sklamaná, že autorka nevyužila potenciál a utopila príbeh v erotike.
